In the Crate – Week of 21APR

Posted on

Uh huh.  Still yet this spring we bring you yet another couple ‘o nights in the 30’s…  Going out on a limb here and sayin’ that we’re now done with that for the season.  Yup – we said it.  May have to eat those words later but, for now anyway, that’s our story and we’re sticking to it.

This weeks Crate brings to y’all:

  • Green onion – not spring onion, but this year’s young crop
  • Radish – prolly French Breakfast but we had some Pink Beaty and Helios in there too!
  • Mustard greens – mmmm, young and mild.  sorry for not getting ’em trimmed up like we normally try to do
  • Spinach – maturing, but still ‘baby’ Bloomsdale
  • Turnip greens – purple top, not quite with a mature root – but they’re coming   😉
  • Romaine lettuce – Paris Isle
  • Romaine Lettuce – Rouge de Hiver
  • Paper-shell pecans – ’cause m just can’t eat another until this years crop comes in   🙂

We’re looking forward to the coming weeks too!  Looks like beets, turnips, rutabegas (all the kid favs), as well as english peas and carrots will be here very, very soon!

Best y’all!
